V26.9.3 Release Notes

Deployed: 30 September 2026

Written by Andre Klaus

Summary

This release folds the encrypted and unencrypted sections into the full Gmail compose window, so protected emails can now use images, tables, rich formatting and AI writing tools, with a clearer boundary showing which part is encrypted. Gmail search now covers encrypted sent and received emails and shows a readable query. Eleven bug fixes are included, covering the email portal, the Gmail extension and analytics.

New Features

Gmail extension

  • Encrypted and unencrypted sections now part of the full Gmail compose window, with support for images, tables, rich formatting and AI writing tools

  • Separate section making it clearer which portion of the email is encrypted

  • Email signatures no longer encrypted

  • Gmail search across encrypted sent and received emails, backfilled for recipients and extended to the new compose window fields

  • Replies default to "No classification" when the thread has no existing label, falling back to the role's default label otherwise

Email portal

  • Default email delivery provider switched from Amazon SES to Mandrill

PPAD API

  • Files can be shared by link, so recipients can open and view them without installing the PPAD viewer

  • Support for customer-managed file storage

Bug Fixes

Email portal

  • Fixed email metadata wrapping, truncation and layout issues in the portal on mobile

  • Fixed plain-text formatting appearing in replies, forwards and the email portal

  • Fixed download options not being shown to the sender when "Allow Download of Original Attachments" is disabled

  • Fixed revoking a forwarded email blocking attachment access in the original sender's portal

  • Fixed the portal logo overflowing the header bar

  • Fixed email controls not highlighting correctly while scrolling away

Gmail extension

  • Fixed a tag being injected into the message preview for empty emails and before forwarded content

  • Fixed recipients being unable to reply when the sender's domain was not on the label's allowed-domain list

  • Fixed an empty To field when replying to a reply of a forwarded encrypted email

  • Fixed a Gmail popup appearing when label encryption is enforced and no text is entered in the secured section
