With File Versioning, you can replace an outdated file while retaining the same link and analytics. You must be the file owner to do this.

How to replace a sent file

Step 1: From your dashboard, click on Manage Sent Files in the left sidebar.

Step 2: Select the file you want to replace. Click on the three dots (...) beside the file and select Replace.

You can also right-click on the file and select Replace.

Step 3: Click on the Upload button to upload a new version of the file

You can also import a file from your cloud storage (Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive or Box).

Note: You must upload a file of the same file type, and you can only upload 1 file. Otherwise, you won't be able to continue.

Step 4: You can add an optional comment in File Version Comment about the new file version.

Step 5: Once done, you can either choose to Replace & notify recipients or Replace & skip notification.

Note: File Versioning currently supports up to 25 uploaded versions of a file. We recommend sending a new, separate file if you have exceeded 25 uploaded versions.


How to check a file's version history

Step 1: From your dashboard, click on Manage Sent Files in the left sidebar.

Step 2: Click on the three dots (...) for the file and select Version history.

Step 3: You'll be directed to the Version history page for the file. Here, you can view, download or restore a previous version of the file.


Can my recipients see the older versions of my sent file?

If you've replaced the sent file with a new version, then yes, your recipients will be able to see the older versions of your sent file. To do this, they will have to click on the ⓘ beside the file name while in the file viewer.

If you don't want your recipients to be able to view the older versions of your sent file, we recommend sending the new version as a separate file.
