Some file recipients / data room guests prefer to avoid One Time passcode (OTP) login and use a password instead. This article explains:
For File Recipient / Data Room Guest: How to Set Up a Password
If you are a file recipient or data room guest accessing a Digify file and want to log in using a password instead of OTP, you’ll need to create a Digify account password.
When You’ll See OTP Login
By default, file recipients / data room guests who do not have a Digify password are prompted to log in using an OTP sent to their email address.
To switch to password login, follow the steps below.
Steps to Create or Set a Password
Go to the Digify login page: https://digify.com/a/#/access/login
Enter your email address and click Continue.
Enter the 6-digit code sent to your email to log in.
Once logged in:
Go to My Settings from the top-right corner.
Select Security.
Under Change Password, select Set Password.
An email will be sent to your email address to set your password.
Follow the link in the email and set your password. (If you need more help, refer to our password setup article.)
For Returning Data Room Users (Quick Password Setup)
Returning data room guests have the option of quickly setting up a permanent password during their next login:
Access the data room and log in using the standard OTP flow for your current session.
On your next visit to the data room, after entering your email, the login screen will display a Set Password option at the bottom. Click it.
Check your email inbox for a message containing a secure password reset link.
Reset your password using the link, and you can use that new password to log in moving forward.
For Admins: How to Enforce Password Login
Admins can enforce how users authenticate when accessing Digify-protected files and data rooms.
Enforcing Password Login
Log in to Digify
Go to the top - right corner Admin Settings.
Under Admin, navigate to Enforce Login Restriction
Enable Email (Password) login and disable Email (One-Time Passcode) login
Save your changes.
Important Notes for Admins
This setting does NOT affect file recipients / data room guests accessing your shared files or data rooms.
This setting only applies to your Digify account members within your Digify team.
We recommend communicating this change to your internal team in advance to avoid login confusion.
