Why some files are renamed
This can happen if your file or folder path is very long, and you upload files from a OneDrive/SharePoint folder that is synced to your computer.
OneDrive/SharePoint support file paths of up to 400 characters, but Windows only supports around 250 characters. To make syncing work, Microsoft may shorten or truncate file names in the background.
While the full file name may still appear correctly in OneDrive/SharePoint, the locally synced version on your computer may temporarily use a shortened name. If you upload the file to Digify at this point, Digify will upload the file using the shortened name it receives.
Why some files are missing
Files in a synced OneDrive or SharePoint folder may not be fully downloaded or materialized on your computer yet. If an upload starts before the file or its metadata is fully available locally, Digify may not receive the complete file content. This can cause the upload to fail or the file to be missing in Digify.
How to avoid this
To prevent both issues, we strongly recommend uploading files from OneDrive or SharePoint using Digify’s cloud storage integration. This uploads files directly from the source, preserves full file names, and avoids local sync limitations.
