As the file owner, you can view your sent files as the owner or as the recipient. If you've enabled download for your sent file, you can also download the file either as the owner or as the recipient.

This can be helpful if you want to:

  • Preview the file as a file recipient.

  • Download the file with a watermark. Dynamic Watermark must be enabled in the file settings. If you do this, your email address may be included in the watermark, depending on your Dynamic Watermark settings

  • Download the file without a watermark, even if Dynamic Watermark is enabled in the file settings

💡 Pro Tip: If you're a data room owner, you can also download data room files to preview them as if you were a data room guest. Learn more

How to view or download your sent files as a recipient

Step 1: From your dashboard, click on Manage Sent Files in the left sidebar.

Step 2: Click on the three dots (...) beside the file that you want to view or download. In the dropdown menu, select View or Download.

Note: The download option will only appear if the file has the Allow Download setting. How to change a sent file’s security settings

Step 3: Select either Recipient (Protected File) or Owner (Original File).

Note: If your file has Dynamic Watermark enabled to display the recipient's email and/or IP address, when previewing the file as a recipient, you may notice your own email and/or IP address reflected in the watermark. This is because the system has detected that you are the recipient in the preview. When your recipient views the file, it will be their own email and/or IP address reflected.
