Invite Permission for Data Room

The Invite permission allows selected guests to invite others into a data room, helping teams scale collaboration without relying on Owners or Co-owners for every access request.

Managing access centrally can slow down collaboration, especially in active projects. The Invite permission allows Owners and Co-owners to safely delegate access management while still maintaining control over permission levels.

With this permission:

  • Teams can onboard collaborators faster

  • Owners avoid bottlenecks from frequent access requests

  • Access remains controlled, with clear limits on what guests can assign

Note: Only Owners and Co-owners can grant the Invite permission to guests within a data room.

Invite Permission Capabilities

Guests with the Invite permission can:

  • Invite new users to a file or folder

  • Assign permissions up to the Edit level
(They cannot assign higher permissions such as Inviter or Co-owner)

  • View the guest list for the file and folder

If Invite permission is granted at the folder level, it automatically applies to:

  • All files within the folder

  • All nested subfolders and their contents

This ensures consistent permissions across the data room structure without requiring manual updates for each item.

Optional: Analytics Access

Owners and Co-owners can enable an additional setting that allows guests with Invite permission to view analytics.

When enabled, guests can view file-level analytics.
