If a guest has the "No Access" permission for the following:
Guest Permission (i.e. the guest was assigned "No Access" permission when they were added to the data room); or
Group Permission (i.e. the guest is a part of a group with "No Access" permission)
Please note that this means the guest has no access at the data room root level. As a result, if you choose to send this guest an invitation to your data room via email notification, the guest will not be able to access the data room link in the email.
If the guest has access to a specific file or folder that is not at the data room root level, please send the guest a direct link to the specific item instead.

What is the data room root level?
The data room root level is the first level of files and folders in a data room.
For example, in this data room, there are 5 items at the root level, and all of them are folders named Folder A, Folder B, Folder C, Folder D and Folder E.
If the data room owner uploads a new file to this part of the data room, there would then be 6 items at the root level. Of these 6 items, 5 are folders and only 1 is a file.
What happens when a guest has "No Access" for all items at the root level
If a guest has "No Access" for all items at the data room root level, the guest will not be able to access the data room via the data room link. This is the link that is shared to guests invited via email notification, and the link you can find in the ⓘ of the data room.
This is true even if the guest has access to an item at a sub-level (i.e. one level below the data room root level) or lower in the data room hierarchy.
For example, this guest has "No Access" for all items at the data room root level. As a result, they will not be able to access the data room via the data room link. This is the case even as this guest has "View" permission for Subfolder B, because Subfolder B is at the sub-level.
When this guest signs in to Digify and clicks Manage Data Rooms in their dashboard, they will see your data room listed. However, they will not be able to access the data room.

For this guest to access Subfolder B, they will need the direct link to Subfolder B. As data room owner, you will need to provide the guest with this link.
How to get the direct link to a specific file/folder
As the data room owner, you can share the direct link to a specific file or folder with your guests. Follow these steps.
Step 1: Enter the data room. Go to the specific file or folder.
Step 2: Once you can see the specific file or folder, select it so that it is highlighted in blue.
Then, in the floating menu that appears, click on Link.
Step 3: A pop-up will appear with a direct link to the folder or file. Click the Copy icon to copy the link.
Step 4: With the link copied, you can now send it to the guest.
This is the link that the guest must always use to access the specific file or folder that they have access to, if they have "No Access" permission for the data room while having granular permissions to access a specific file or folder.
